-The SONY Xperia U uses Android 2.3 a.k.a. Gingerbread Operating System.
-SONY has planned Ice cream sandwich Android 4.0 for this phone, it should be available post
August 2012.
-P.S. Adobe Flash is supported on this phone.

Advice: Gingerbread is currently the most used and popular Android OS as of July 2012, off course power efficiency will be better on Ice cream sandwich but Gingerbread is the most successful OS till date.

-The battery used on SONY Xperia U is a standard Li-Ion 1320 mAh battery.
-With light usage of apps and games the battery will last till the end of your day, however if you play games frequently you may need to charge 2 or more times a day.
-Talk-time of upto 6 h 36 min (2G) & 5 h 36 min (3G).
-Standby time upto upto 260 h (2G) & 472 h (3G).
-A separately purchasable 1500mAh battery is available from Mugen Power Batteries and is said to last 16% more than the stock battery.

Advice: Ultimately its how you yourself use your phone, so use your apps & games wisely when your outdoors. With such a powerful phone it is bound to suck battery when gaming so be alert.

-Gaming on this phone is smooth as ever.

-Graphics Processor used is Mali 400MP(single core) as compared to the (dual & quad core) Mali 400MP which is used  in devices like Samsung Galaxy S II, Samsung Galaxy Note, Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.7, Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.0 Plus, given a Dual core Cortex A9 processor, you can expect most of the same games to run on the SONY XPERIA U.

-In terms of applications, it can run many of the applications meant for phones to the like
S II, LG OPTIMUS 2X, SAMSUNG GALAXY R and other dual core phones out there

- Mali 400MP is a bit superior than " ULP Geforce" graphics of Optimus 2X &  Galaxy R.

-Ultimate phone for gaming given the price.
